Comedy is slippery.
It’s a lot of fucking things, man. We don’t know what comedy is. We couldn’t even tell you what it isn’t, to be perfectly honest with you. A lot of impossibly smart and talented and successful people have opined a great deal about comedy, and they probably didn’t know shit about fuck, neither.
If you think you know what comedy is, don’t bother explaining to us, because you definitely don’t.
That being said, welcome to our Amateur Comedy Blog, where in as great a detail as we can muster, we will tell you exactly what comedy is and how you, too, can be almost-not-bad at it. We will tell you everything we know, and much more that we think we know but don’t, in verbose and hyperbolic language. We will share our, sets, rules, thought processes, mistakes and successes. We will post memes, half-baked clips, and images that are 100% testing the water to see if we could support a merch store. Some of what we post may even be useful!*
Plainly, our goal is to document our experience as amateur comics, stand-up and otherwise, in a vain effort to provide utility to someone else. Hopefully, that utility is as a how-to guide to fellow aspiring comics; but also, potentially as a cautionary tale or perhaps gallows humor.
